Garlic Harvest

We lifted garlic last weekend (7/24/11) with the help of our two farmhands.  Hunter and Daniel spent the better part of Saturday digging garlic, bunching it to hang and sorting through for seed garlic to be planted this fall.  We grow two varieties, killarney red (hardneck) and inchelium red (softneck).  We are excited about how many plants produced bulbs large enough to save for our own seed garlic.

Garlic is the first plant I will put in the ground for next season and 9 months later we will harvest it - patience.
